In honor of Flywheel Gold Coast’s six year anniversary, we asked our rockstar #GoldCoast team to share their favorite places to dine, drink, and explore in the neighborhood. Read on to see where to grab a summer cocktail, fuel post-class, and of course–take in the view.
WILL HALEY: Flywheel Gold Coast Lead Instructor
Where to grab the perfect cup of joe? Beatrix in River North has OPTIONS and I love options. They get their coffee from Metropolis and Intelligentsia (my favorite) and is perfect black, with no sugar, cream, or milk. But if you’re feeling fancy, they have everything ranging from Nitro Coffee to Bulletproof and everything in between!
Where to stretch it out: Yoga Now in the Gold Coast has a range of classes, but if you want to really chill out, try getting a gong bath there — trust me!
Where to find the best view: I’m afraid of heights…So if you want a nice grounded view, you can find me on the patio at Erie Cafe.
Where to fuel: You can find me somewhere between Sweetgreen and True Food Kitchen.
Where to cheers to your PR: Quartino is a #FLYfam favorite (and not too far to walk after killing it in class!)
TEDDY HEIDT: Flywheel Gold Coast Instructor
Where to grab the perfect cup of joe? If you are up for a walk, Fairgrounds Coffee + Tea on Michigan Ave is my absolute favorite. Multi-roaster concept, amazing cold brew options, and my favorite Matcha drink in the city – the Rainforest Remedy! Convenience-wise, Flywheel is surrounded on all sides by Starbucks for a quick dose of caffeine!
Where to stretch it out: In addition to CorePower Yoga, I love taking time to recover with Aligned Modern Health. They provide massage, acupuncture, cupping – the works – and help me recover after a week of classes! The team at Aligned is fantastic and I love how knowledgeable they are when it comes to athletes and those who are super active.
Where to find the best view: DrumBar is a favorite – plus their frosé is AMAZING. Also, Cindy’s rooftop on Michigan Ave gives you the best of both worlds…the incredible lakefront and the stunning skyscrapers along Randolph.
Where to fuel: Protein Bar offers amazing healthy options nearby in a fast-paced setting, so it definitely helps out those of us on the go. I’m also obsessed with True Food Kitchen, which opened recently two blocks south of the studio. So many amazing healthy and seasonal eats in a vibrant setting!
Where to cheers to your PR: Pops for Champagne on State Street! Bubbles!
ALLIE WHITE: Flywheel Gold Coast Instructor
Where to grab the perfect cup of joe? La Colombe’s draft latte is straight magic. If I’m looking for something closer to Gold Coast, I head to Big Shoulders Coffee.
Where to find the best view: Cindy’s – drinks with a view!
Where to fuel: I love everything on the menu at True Food Kitchen and Sweetgreen. However, anywhere that has bacon and coffee is good in my book.
Where to cheers to your PR: City Winery or Bub City.
