Waking up at 5:15AM in the dead of winter to exercise is generally not anyone’s idea of a good time; especially when you are six months pregnant and the streets are lined with snow! However, this is pretty much how I’ve spent and continue to spend the majority of my weekday mornings. Surprisingly, when that alarm clock goes off, I wake up excited about what the next hour brings. This is because despite the fatigue, the weather and the long list of “reasons not to go,” five blocks away from my apartment is my “oasis.” Continue Reading

Let’s face it: between weekly BBQs, drinks on the beach and the frequent stop for ice cream, it’s not always easy to control our diets during the summer season. Luckily, there are certain foods that can help keep you trim by reducing inflammation and bloat in the body that you’ll actually want to eat at your next gathering. We asked Ashley Pettit, Certified Nutrition Coach, Certified Wellness & Nutrition Consultant and blogger behind Ashley Pettit Living to share her top choices on what to reach for and what to avoid during these upcoming summer weeks:

Bailey, who has a degree in holistic nutrition from The Academy of Healing Nutrition in NYC, shares the benefits of eating specific types of red meat from added energy and muscle support to antioxidants that help fight disease. Recently, at the Flatiron studio in New York City, a private class was booked by a longtime rider, Michael Hamilton. Michael had been looking for the ideal place to host a special event with family and friends and he knew that Flywheel would be the perfect spot. Unlike many others who rent our studios, Michael was not celebrating a birthday or raising money for an important cause. Rather, he was planning to propose to his girlfriend, Nicki! He also knew how much Flywheel had meant to their relationship. If had not been for their mutual love for indoor cycling, they may have never started dating.
