Luckily Flywheel instructors have a knack for curating playlists that will pump you up – whether it’s 6 am or your boss totally got on your last nerve (we’ve all been there). The rhythm of the beats and inspirational lyrics keep you energized for those fast sprints, motivated during a hill sequence and cruising through a set of tap backs. Eight weeks to train exclusively with Master Instructor Lacey Stone isn’t something to take for granted. For participants Suzie Brown and Angelica Suarez, this custom eight-week program left them stronger and healthier, but not without a few bumps along the way. Despite several workouts that seemed impossible to finish and some mentally-challenging days, the motto both Suzie and Angelica kept in mind was simple: the greater the effort you put into a goal, the more you get back. BCA: Flywheel Instructor Candee’s Story of Survival

Flywheel Millburn instructor Candee McAloon was diagnosed with — and conquered — breast cancer twice in a span of five years. What kept her strong? “Always keep your head up. That’s how I stayed positive while battling through Stage 0 and Stage 1 breast cancer.” Candee’s story inspires us in more ways than one. Refusing to let breast cancer direct her life, she focused her energy on raising her two young children and continued teaching at Flywheel while enduring exhausting treatments and chemotherapy. BCA: What Two-Time Breast Cancer Survivor Jena Karp Wants You to Know

There’s a lot we can learn from our Flywheel instructors — lessons that extend much further than the bike or the mat.  In honor of  Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re sharing the incredible story of Millburn  instructor Jena Karp who was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2004 and then again in March 2007.  After undergoing radiation and then a double mastectomy, Jena is now cancer free. “This bump in the road never stopped me and I feel stronger than ever before.
