While a scale comes in handy for measuring overall weight loss, a tape measure is a great tool to track body composition changes. Here’s how to do it—all you need is a tape measure!
- Waist – Measure your natural waist or the narrowest part of your torso.
- Hips – This is the widest part of your glutes. Try looking in a mirror and standing sideways to ensure the tape is parallel to the floor.
- Arms – Stand up straight with the arms relaxed and measure the midpoint between the shoulder bone and the elbow of one arm.
- Thighs – Measure around the widest part of the thigh, the midpoint between the lower part of your glutes and the back of the knee.
