GETTING BACK IN THE GAME WITH THE FLYWHEEL CHALLENGE

Five years ago, I thought that I in the best shape of my life. I felt healthy and confident and I was up for any fitness challenge that came my way. But then the aches and pains began. What I initially chalked up to “getting older” and muscle fatigue was eventually diagnosed as osteoarthritis, a form of arthritis that causes pain, swelling and reduced motion in joints, such as hips. I was devastated. My hard-earned fitness routine and long anticipated plans to try Flywheel were abruptly put on hold. I underwent a bilateral hip replacement. Flywheel Chicago rider Shauna Anderson started FLYing in 2014 after suffering an injury during marathon training.   Six months later, she’s not only lost 16 pounds, but also discovered a workout that allows her to pursue her goal of running a marathon in all seven continents!
